End of the Line

Sadly D C Thomson have pulled the plug on their digest-sized comics Beano and Dandy funsize. Like several other cartoonists, I got a lot of early work from Ian Gray, who originated the line in 1982. These two were by me, I did about sixty in all.
For the last three years I have not seen one in WH Smith, so in a way it came as a surprise they were still being published.

I liked the original comic libraries one long story..they are very imagnative and the narative can be very intereting..also loved seeing all Beano stars all together..
They are still good to read today..
The best one has to be a Meance and his dog.the Gnasher and Black Bob one..mixing real and comic together..

Or seeing Roger the Dodger..Winker Watson and Tricky Dicky in Dodge City..

Maybe they should oif tried reprinting these older stories..
I feel like reading one now..

Agreed. I wasn't buying Fun-Size due to them being reprints of earlier issues I already have. If they'd switched to reprinting comic libraries instead, I would've definitely started buying them again.

I still have the first seventy or so Beano and Dandy Comic libraries. I too preferred the one story format of the originals.
